Chatelain

Went for a walk at Chatelain today. Saw so many cool design shops. There are so many things you just want to have cuz they are so cool! But luckily shops closed on sundays. Will come back next week for brunch and shopping

with shops, places to eat, and galleries.

Amazingly even if feels like nothing to do – you’ll still discover something new in downtown.

Initially wanted to go to Magritte museum, but it’s all full of tourists and it was sold out. Instead went to Sablon to walk about and discovered new Taschen shop, where we stopped for quite a while – design and fashion books with pretty pictures can be very addictive. Then stopped by Yellow Korner Gallery… Ended up in as always in Coffee Company for Latte and Chai.

And let me complain once again about shops being closed on Sundays in this country. It just makes NO sense to me at all!!

Random facts i found out recently (based on personal and friend’s experiences) – the fees you will pay in Brussels for:

Speaking on the phone while driving – 150 EUR

Being sick in the taxi – 150 EUR

Dropping your keys (or anything) in elevator whole – 60/120 EUR depending if its working hours or outside of working hours.

Somehow only around August every evening Brussels is lit up by magical orange light, and none of the buildings would look the same.. If you’d see Brussels for the first time in one of those nights, you’d fall in love with it Not convinced? See here

My favourite Brussels moment is definitely watching Sunsets at the end of summer… What’s yours?

Heels and the City

One thing Brussels is not made for is walking in heels. Any kind of heels would be broken in days. Specially if you walk a lot around Schuman area. I guess EU commission ladies are not supposed to look pretty… or maybe just higher than EU commission men.
